Building a Brand on Trust

   Scott Saunders    |

Whether you are an entrepreneur or investor who is building a brand from the ground up, or re-branding your identity, one thing is clear: It is important to trust your guide.

For most people, they excel at the service or products that they are taking to market. That is the reason (hopefully) they are doing what they are doing. And some of those people may even have a decent set of skills or knowledge of marketing. But the harsh reality is that they won’t have the same, high level expertise that brand developers have.

At the core of a brand is telling a story. YOUR Story. And it is the job of the creative brand strategist to help you tell your story through your brand. To be your GUIDE. But doing so requires you to relinquish your brand strategies and marketing to the experts. And for many, that is an internal struggle that is caused by fear and lack of trust.

Just as every good story has a hero, every good story has a guide – that person that helped steer the hero in the right directions. Helped nudge, tug, and push that hero up the mountain where they were to achieve their greatness. In Star Wars, it was Yoda that provided Luke Skywalker with that guidance. In the Lord of the Rings trilogy, it was the wizard Gandalf that helped Frodo achieve his potential. And in the classic story of Pinocchio, the wooden boy’s mentor was in the form of tiny Jiminy Cricket.

Build a Brand with Trust

From the big things to the little things, at the core of ensuring your brand is successful, telling the right story, and reaching the audience you want, you need to let go of the reins… and TRUST.

From the big things to the little things, getting the counsel you need will help you connect with your customers. But getting counsel and guidance only works if you heed what you are receiving and allow the guide to show you how to get where you want – and need – to go to be successful.
